The Singender Wirt Hotel - The warmest of welcomes
awaits at the three star Singender Wirt Hotel located
in Kamp Bornhofen on the Rhine (near the famous Loreley).

Note: the hotel is three storey and does not have
a lift - though there is porterage). This family run
hotel is filled with cheer for the heartiest of holidays. |
OUR RESORT
Nowhere in the world can claim such an important
role in the growth of a nation as the Rhine. The Rhine
rises in Switzerland and ultimately flows through
the Netherlands in its progress to the sea, but most
of its 1,370km (850 miles) snake through the mountains
and plains of Germany. For more than 2,000 years,
it has been a chief trade route, its deep waters enabling
modern seagoing vessels to travel downstream from
the North Sea as far as Cologne. From its earliest
times, the Rhine has also been a main road for religious,
intellectual, and artistic ideas. It has been called
a “triumphal avenue of the muses,” and a trip along
its banks today reveals endless treasures. Legend
and history wait around every bend of the river.
HOLIDAY ITINERARY
• DAY 1: Early morning for our transfer to Dover
or Folkestone for our crossing around lunch time.
We continue to our hotel in Kamp- Bornhofen arriving
late evening, where we are met with a welcoming drink,
sandwiches, tea and coffee
• DAY 2: Depart for an excursion to Rudesheim,
one of the most visited places in Germany. When it
comes to natural beauty, castles, monuments, wines,
gastronomy, there’s hardly a place that matches it!
A chance to visit the famous Asbach Brandy factory
or take a cable car above the town for spectacular
Rhine Valley views.
• DAY 3: A feature day on the historic Rhine,
visiting Koblenz where the Rhine and Moselle meet,
Boppard and St Goar. Photo opportunities at every
bend with medieval towns and ancient castles. Perhaps
a chance for an optional cruise.
• DAY 4: Depart for an excursion up the Mosel
Valley to Cochem, a town whose foremost sight is the
large Reichsburg castle. Rising high above the town,
the castle’s many spires and walls stand out against
the green trees. The city’s square has pastel coloured
or halftimbered buildings and Baroque towers.
• DAY 5: Depart after breakfast, we head for
Calais. Time permitting you can stock up on wines
and spirits before your crossing back to UK and our
return journey home.
Please Note: This tour operates an early morning departure,
arriving at your hotel late evening of the first night.
Similarly, we return home late evening on the Friday.
