Hotel, through Staffordshire, and a visit to Wedgewood
to see England’s finest craftsmanship.
PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK Joined by our
local guide for a day of lore in the Peak District
National Park. First to Buxton, renowned for its invigorating
waters. On to Eyam (the plague town) and Castleton.
Opportunities to visit the famous caverns beloved
by Queen Victoria. Continuing over the wild moors
and panoramic High Peak and Snake Pass.
BAKEWELL & CHATSWORTH HOUSE A leisurely
drive to Bakewell, famous for its ‘tarts’. Time in
the town before we head for Chatsworth House, one
of the finest stately homes in Britain (entrance to
the house and grounds is included). In the evening,
a tour to a mystery pub for a pint of northern ale.
QUARRY BANK MILL - a wonderful working
Georgian Cotton Mill. Please note there are a number
of steps to parts of the exhibits).
A TOUR OF TATTON PARK. Set in 1000 acres
of roiling parkland, we include entrance to the Mansion,
the jewel in Tatton’s crown. It offers a truly fascinating
glimpse of the style, taste and history of life in
the early nineteenth century; lavish state rooms,
family memorabilia, fine collections and the domestic
