LAKE CRUISE A short drive to the village
of Ambleside where we join our cruise with the Steam
Packet Company down the length of Windermere to Lakeside.
We meet the coach and continue to the picturesque
Coniston Water and the village of Hawkshead with its
quaint alleyways and timber framed houses.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LAKE DISTRICT, Grasmere
- home of Wordsworth (chance to visit Dove Cottage
and the Wordsworth Museum), Thirlmere, Patterdale,
Kirkstone Pass and Keswick.
HOLKER HALL We drive down the banks
of Windermere to historic and magnificent Holker Hall,
former residence of the Dukes of Devonshire. Lavishly
furnished rooms, and award-winning formal gardens.
