from the southwest we head northwards calling into
Stratford-upon- Avon, arriving at our hotel late afternoon.
Relax in the fabulous leisure facilities before a
delightful evening dinner in the Saddle Restaurant.
DURHAM & BEAMISH All the flavour of
the County of Durham. First we visit the historic
city of Durham. Here is your chance to visit the cathedral,
the mighty castle or stroll around the quaint shopping
centre. We then head off to visit delightful Beamish,
a unique living, working experience of life as it
was in the Great North in the early 1800s and 1900s
(winner of both the British Museum of the Year and
European Museum of the Year Awards) - an enchanting
and memorable experience. (entrance included).
THE NORTH YORKSHIRE DALES - lush green
valleys (“dales”) crested with white limestone cliffs
(“scars”) and wild uplands beneath towering peaks
(“fells”) . Visiting Richmond - a historical market
town with Norman Castle, Georgian architecture, cobbled
market place, monuments and abbeys. A town which inspires
painters and poets, past and present. Then, on to
Barnard Castle and the inspiring Bowes Museum - world-class
exhibits of European fine and decorative art, housed
in a magnificent French-style château in 23 acres
of parkland.
